How to add tip alerts, a goal bar and a supporter ticker to OBS
If you stream, the best moment for a tip is the moment it happens, with your viewers watching. SendKudos has three stream widgets you add to OBS or Streamlabs as a browser source: tip alerts, a goal bar, and a supporter ticker.
The three widgets
- Tip alerts: a pop-up showing the supporter's name, the amount, and their message when a tip settles.
- Goal bar: a live progress bar tied to your featured campaign, so viewers watch you get closer to the goal.
- Supporter ticker: a scrolling strip of your most recent supporters along the edge of the screen.
Set it up in OBS
- In SendKudos, open Dashboard → Widgets and choose the widget you want.
- Pick an accent colour and size, and decide whether alerts should play a sound.
- Optionally set a minimum amount, so only tips above it trigger an alert.
- Click Copy browser source URL in the embed section.
- In OBS, under Sources, click + and choose Browser.
- Paste the URL into the URL field, set the width and height to suit your layout, and click OK.
The same URL works in Streamlabs and any other streaming tool that supports browser sources. Add one source per widget, so you can position each one independently.
Check it before you go live
- Use the live preview in the widgets page to see exactly how the widget will look.
- Move and resize each widget in your scene so it does not cover your game or camera.
- If you use sound, test your audio levels so alerts do not drown out your voice.
Your widget URL is tied to your page. Treat it like a link you would share on stream: do not post it publicly if you would rather keep it to yourself.
