How Nigerian creators can receive tips from fans abroad

Picture this: a fan in London loves your content and wants to send you £20 right now. What do you tell them? Send it to my bank account? Use PayPal? For most Nigerian creators, that moment is where the support quietly disappears.

Why getting paid by fans abroad is hard

• International bank transfers are slow, need account details, and cost your fans extra in fees.
• Many global tipping tools were built for the US and do not pay out to Nigerian bank accounts well, or at all.
• Platform monetization such as YouTube's has thresholds, and you wait to be paid even after you qualify.
• Asking fans to jump through hoops means most of them simply do not bother.

The result is that the people most willing to support you, often your audience in the diaspora, are the ones with the least convenient way to do it.

What a good setup looks like

1. One link you can put anywhere: your bio, video descriptions, show notes, your website.
2. Fans pay in the currency they already have, with a card, without having to create an account.
3. You see each tip with the message attached, and withdraw to your Nigerian bank account in naira.

How SendKudos does this

With SendKudos you get a public page of your own. Fans in Nigeria pay in naira through Paystack, and fans abroad pay in dollars, pounds, or euros through Stripe. SendKudos routes each tip through the right route for you.

Beyond tips, the same page can carry memberships for fans who want to support you every month, a shop section linking to your own store, and a follow-by-email option so you keep a relationship with your audience that is not owned by an algorithm. You can read more about how tips work.

Getting started in a few minutes

1. Create your SendKudos account and choose your username.
2. Add a photo and a short bio so fans know who they are supporting.
3. Copy your page link and put it where your audience already is.
4. Optionally, add a support button or widget to your own site. There is a guide for adding a tip button to WordPress.

Who this is for

SendKudos is built for creators whose value is the work itself: podcasters, YouTubers, writers, musicians, artists, and builders with an audience. If you sell a course or run a paid community, dedicated platforms for that exist and are a good fit. SendKudos is for the free content and the people who love it.
