How to add a tip button to your WordPress site

You can add SendKudos to a WordPress site without installing a plugin. SendKudos gives you a snippet of HTML, and WordPress has a block for pasting it in.

Choose a snippet

  • Button: a single styled link that points to your SendKudos page. It works on any WordPress site, because it needs no script or frame.
  • Card: a small card with your picture, name, and a support button, shown inside an iframe. It needs a site that allows embedded frames.

Copy it from your dashboard

  1. Log in to SendKudos and open Dashboard → Widgets.
  2. Go to the support section, then pick your label and accent colour.
  3. Copy the button or card HTML.

Paste it into WordPress

  1. Open the post or page where you want the button.
  2. Click the + icon to add a block and search for Custom HTML.
  3. Paste the snippet into the block and publish or update the page.

To show it on every page, add it to your sidebar or footer instead: go to Appearance → Widgets, add a Custom HTML widget, and paste the same snippet.

Coming soon: the official WordPress plugin

We have submitted an official SendKudos plugin to the WordPress.org plugin directory. Once it is approved, you will be able to install it from your WordPress dashboard and add the button with a block, a [sendkudos] shortcode or a sidebar widget, with no HTML to paste. Until then, the Custom HTML method above works on any site.

If the card does not appear

Some hosted WordPress plans remove iframes and scripts from pasted content for security. If the card does not show, use the button instead. It is a plain link, so it works everywhere.
